Preparing Article Submission for Supernova Science Education Journal

Submission Requirements: Before sending an article to the Supernova Science Education Journal, authors are expected to review the completeness of the following sections. If the requirements are not met, the submission will be returned to the authors.

Alignment with Focus and Scope: The article should align with the focus and scope criteria of the Supernova Science Education Journal, which include:

  • The article has not been previously published and is not under consideration for submission to another journal.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document format (Docx).
  • If applicable, include URLs for each reference.
  • The text is spaced at 1.15; uses Garamond font; has a font size of 12 points; employs italics for emphasis and foreign language (except for URLs); and all illustrations, images, and tables are embedded within the text at appropriate positions, not appended at the end.
  • Tables and figures adhere to the criteria specified in the article writing guidelines.
  • Check for similarity level (plagiarism) using software with a maximum threshold of 20%. It is recommended to use Mendeley and Zotero programs for managing citations and references.
  • The text follows the style and bibliography requirements outlined in the Author's Guide.

Article Requirements and Guidelines for Supernova Science Education Journal:

1. The article must adhere to the focus and scope criteria of the Supernova Science Education Journal.

  • Author names should be provided without academic titles and placed below the article title. All author names must be accompanied by their email addresses or the email address of the responsible author.
  • The article should be written in either Indonesian or English, with abstracts provided in both languages following essay format.

2. Research Results Structure:

  • Title of the article, author names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, abstract (125 to 250 words covering the purpose, methods, and findings of the research), keywords, introduction (including background, a brief literature review, and objectives), research methodology, research findings and discussion, conclusion and recommendations, references (comprising cited sources).
  • Whenever possible, sources should be from the last 10 years. Primary references, such as research articles from journals or scholarly magazines, are preferred.

3. Citation and Reference Format:

  • Citations and bibliography should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style. The use of reference management software like Mendeley or Zotero is recommended.

4. Editorial Review Process:

  • All text will be reviewed by expert editors within their respective fields. Authors will be given the opportunity to revise the text based on the editor's recommendations or suggestions.

5. Publishing Decision:

  • Decisions regarding publication or rejection of the manuscript will be communicated online via the Online Journal Systems (OJS).

6. Licensing and Responsibility:

  • All matters related to citation licenses or the use of computer software for manuscript creation are the responsibility of the article authors, along with any potential legal consequences that may arise.

Manuscript Structure for Supernova Science Education Journal:
  • Title: The title should accurately reflect the paper's content without acronyms or abbreviations. Maximum of 15 words.
  • Abstract: The abstract must be under 200 words, without quotations. The Abstract section should include the research purpose, methodology, results, and conclusions. Provide the abstract in both Indonesian and English versions.
  • Introduction: This section provides the study's background, current situation, gap analysis, novelty, research problem, solutions, and research objectives.
  • Method: This section outlines the research design or procedure, subjects, location, experimental or utilized design, sampling technique (if applicable), specific and clear sample size, measured variables, research instruments, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods.
  • Results and Discussion: This section presents the research results clearly and concisely. Authors should explore the novelty, impact, or contribution of the work to the relevant literature.
  • Conclusion and Recommendations: Conclusions should answer the research questions or objectives and be presented in paragraph form. Conclusions should not repeat results and discussions. Recommendations should present implications or future developments based on the research.
  • Acknowledgment/ Thank You (if applicable): This section acknowledges the parties who provided support or contribution to the research.
  • References: The reference list should include a minimum of 12 primary references, with more than 80% (>50%) from reliable scholarly journals with DOI or their URLs. References should not be older than 10 years. The use of reference managers like Mendeley, Zotero, and others is encouraged.
